As part of the Mongolian government's “One Billion Trees” project, a student-led initiative saw around 100 members of the British School of Ulaanbaatar community tree planting in the National Park at the weekend. BSU Eco club members organised for BSU families to be able to plant four types of trees in order to combat deforestation and desertification, while promoting sustainable development and environmental conservation.
It was fantastic to see BSU students giving up their Saturday morning to fulfill their commitment as global citizens, taking responsibility to care for the planet we call home. The tree planting was a small step towards achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and raising awareness about life on land and climate change, affirming BSU's commitment as a UNESCO ASPnet school.
