Working at British School in Ulaanbaatar
At the British School of Ulaanbaatar (BSU), nestled in the heart of Mongolia's capital, we offer a distinctive educational opportunity. Aligned with the National Curriculum of England and Wales, a globally recognized program taught in over thirty thousand schools, BSU takes pride in providing a robust academic foundation. Additionally, we offer IGCSE, A, and AS levels to ensure our students acquire internationally recognized qualifications. With a community of 600 students aged 3 to 18, BSU is committed to creating a nurturing environment for both British and international students.
The British School of Ulaanbaatar (BSU) is committed to the principle of equal opportunity in education and employment. The School does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of race, colour, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, or national or ethnic origin in the administration of its educational, admissions, or employment policies.
However, in order to fulfil the School’s mission of providing education in the English language to the international community, BSU may consider factors such as a student applicant’s prior educational and linguistic background during the admissions process.

Professional Development and Training
The British School of Ulaanbaatar believes that all colleagues shall have an entitlement to equality of access to high quality induction and continuing professional development. All members of the school community will have opportunities through performance management procedures and other mechanisms to discuss their professional development needs. As a School, we aim to participate in initiatives and projects which can be shown to have a positive impact on staff development, represent substantial value for money and can be accommodated within the constraints of the school budget. The school will disseminate good and successful CPD practice that supports and improves teaching and learning.
The central emphasis of this policy is on the improvement of the quality of learning and teaching across the School. The aim is the improvement in the practice of individuals and teams through creating Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in which supportive and collaborative groups extend our capacity for continuous self-improvement. All staff are required to undertake safeguarding training, including induction and regular updates.
