BSU Year 13 student Khaliunaa Gankhuleg successfully participated in the International Economics Olympiad (IEO) held in Hong Kong, China, where she received an individual overall Silver Medal and achieved 18th place in the team Business Case category.
The International Economics Olympiad (IEO) is the world's most competitive economics competition, bringing together highly accomplished high school students from around the globe each year to demonstrate their prowess in economics and finance.
The Olympiad is supported by Eric Maskin, the 2007 Nobel Prize winner in Economics. Each participating country hosts a national Olympiad to select up to five top students to represent their country in the final stage of the International Economics Olympiad.
Khuliunaa represented Team Mongolia against 240 contestants from 53 countries and territories at the 7th IEO. The competition includes three rounds: Economics, Financial Literacy (both individual), and Business Case Analysis, where teams work together for 24 hours to solve real-world problems.
This year, the Financial Literacy Round was held in collaboration with ACCA Global (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), the world's most forward-thinking professional accountancy body, providing globally recognized qualifications and advancing standards.
The BSU community congratulates Khaliunaa on this wonderful achievement and wishes her the best for future success!
