Anti-Bullying Week has been a wonderful celebration of everything that the British School of Ulaanbaatar promotes throughout the school year, and it has allowed us to highlight our key core value of “compassion” further through many different activities and interventions.
As well as Odd Socks Day (Tuesday) and holding assemblies based on this year's theme of 'Choose Respect,' pupils wrote gratitude notes. The gratitude notes make wonderful reading, with messages of kindness being spread by students, teachers and support staff. These messages are again reinforcing our 6C values and are allowing our community to express gratitude and kindness to those around them. At the end of the week the notes will be tied to a tree and displayed for the BSU community to see. The inspiration for this comes from the Japanese festival of 'Tanabata' - where people write wishes on colorful strips of paper and hang them on bamboo branches. We are very proud of all our students and of their commitment and enthusiasm to this year’s Anti-Bullying Week. There is a tremendous amount of work going on in this area, and BSU is also looking to further develop its current provision to ensure we are the very best in everything we do !
