Dear Parents and Carers,

As Summer moves into Autumn and we are still enjoying the sunshine and blue skies, we want our children to make the most of the outdoors during play times and lunch times. At the height of winter our children will spend much of their time indoors and it will be some time before they can enjoy the freedom of being outside.

Until then we will be taking children outside during break and lunch and so it is important they are properly dressed for this. It is important that children arrive at school prepared for outdoor play. Please ensure your child comes to school with appropriate outdoor clothing to include:

  • shoes and boots as it becomes cooler

  • a warm winter coat

  • over-trousers (optional)

  • scarf

  • gloves

  • hat

Our teachers will monitor the daily temperatures, precipitation and the severity of the pollution to ensure children can enjoy their playtime. We will not allow children to play out if the temperature falls below -10 degrees or if we receive warnings regarding the pollution level.

Teachers will be monitoring the playground and it is an expectation that all children will be outdoors with their teachers. Children enjoy the freedom to run and play. Please help us by sending your child in suitable outdoor clothing.

Yours sincerely,

Karen Mort

Executive Head of School
